See how your donations have been making a difference!

Thanks to the donations made via the Gift Shop last year we have been able to provide numerous grants to local community groups which have helped to support the vital work they do.

Below are a small selection of examples of the projects that your gifts and cards have made possible. Please keep checking these pages as we will update them when new grants are made.

Supporting people with disibilities

A gift shop grant allowed the Green Explorers to develop a plot of land into an organic garden for children and young people with special needs in the Weardale and Teesdale area.

Green where you live

The Tees Forest were able to work with a group of Scouts to plant 2,000 trees on the outskirts of Darlington creating a new community woodland area, part of which will become an area of children and young people to manage.

Children and young people

St Barnabus Church Baby & Toddlers group in Bournmoor received a grant to purchase a new range of toys and creative activities for the babies and children using their facilities to replace the second-hand, badly worn range of toys and games they had before.

Community Sports

Durham County Football Club aim to prevent the social exclusion of local young people by encouraging them to participate in their training programme and activities. Thanks to the Gift Shop they now have a brand new strip for all their members.
