Community Sports - Durham County Football Club
Durham
County Football Club was set up in 1992 with the aim of providing children
and young people between the ages of 15 and 18 with the opportunity to
participate in football. The group's members come from all over County
Durham.
The project encourages a healthier lifestyle through regular exercise, delivered all-year round in a disciplined and competitive manner. The group is run and supported by more than 40 volunteers.
A grant from the Gift Shop meant that the football club could buy a new football strip to replace the very old and faded set that their members were previously playing in. The new strip has helped lift the profile of the club and has raised the confidence of the young players when competing against other teams in the surrounding area.
